What we collect
- Account: your email address and the display name you choose.
- Content: the tasks, notes, habits and calendar events you create; steps and messages you share inside Together circles; your profile photo if you add one.
- Technical: a crash report (error message and platform) if the app fails; your browser’s push subscription if you turn notifications on.
- Connected calendars (optional): if you link a Google or Outlook calendar, only event titles and times are read. You can remove access at any time.
No ads, no selling of data, no sharing with third parties for marketing.
AI features
AI features (chat, “Add with AI”, the day’s story) run only when you use them, and you are asked for permission before the first use. When you use them, what you write and the parts of your tasks, notes, lists and calendar that the request needs are sent to an AI provider:
- ForDaily AI: to OpenAI, through ForDaily’s server. The conversation is not stored on ForDaily’s server; only usage (who, when, how many credits) is recorded. OpenAI is asked not to store it.
- Your own key: straight from your device to the provider you chose (OpenAI or Anthropic). ForDaily never sees the key or the conversation. The key is kept in your device’s secure store.
What the assistant does
- Reads: the tasks, lists, folders, habits, notes, calendar and focus records your request needs. You switch each area on or off in Settings → AI; an area that is off is never sent.
- Changes: at your request it adds or edits tasks, notes, habits and events. It asks before moving anything to Trash and cannot delete permanently. Its changes can be undone for seven days.
- Does not send: your name and email address are not sent to the provider. Only a code derived from your account, which does not reveal who you are, is passed so abuse can be told apart.
Past chats and day stories are kept on your device only. AI data is never used for ads and never sold. Under its own terms OpenAI does not use data sent through its API to train its models; it may keep it for a limited time to detect abuse. Everything travels encrypted (TLS).
Reporting an answer. The flag under an answer tells us something went wrong. The report is stored without your account or name: the reason you picked, your note if you wrote one, the app version and which tools ran. The question and the answer are sent only if you choose to include them. To cap how many can be sent in a day, the number of reports your account sent that day is kept separately and deleted after a week; it is not linked to what a report says.
Dictation
When you tap the microphone on a phone, your speech is turned into text by the phone’s own speech recognition (Apple on iPhone, Google on Android). ForDaily keeps no recordings; it only receives the resulting text.
Where your data lives
On your device, so the app works offline, and on Supabase infrastructure in the European Union (eu-west-1). Transport is encrypted with TLS. Row-level security on the server ensures each person can reach only their own data and the circles they are a member of.
Your rights (GDPR and KVKK)
- Access and portability: Settings → Data → “Download as file” exports everything as JSON.
- Erasure: Settings → Account → “Delete my account” permanently removes your account and all cloud data. You can also send the same request by email.
- Rectification and objection: edit your content in the app, or write to us.
How long we keep it
Data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account erases its server data immediately. Crash reports are kept for at most 60 days.
Children
ForDaily is made for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children. Circles are invite-only; there is no public feed or discovery.
This website
getfordaily.com sets no tracking cookies and loads no advertising or analytics scripts from other companies. It remembers your colour theme and the language you chose in your browser, on your device only.
