Folders, steps and lists

How to group tasks into folders, break a project into steps, and keep separate lists for separate parts of your life.

Lists

A list is the widest container: work, home, a side project. Each list has its own folders and tasks, so they do not mix.

Folders

A folder holds the tasks of one project. Use one when several tasks belong together and you want to see them finish as a group.

Steps

A task inside a folder is a step of that project. ForDaily keeps this to one level on purpose: a folder and its steps. Deeper nesting tends to hide work instead of organising it.

Tags

A tag cuts across folders and lists. Use tags for things like “waiting” or “phone calls” that do not belong to one project.

Finishing and undoing

Ticking the circle completes a task. Finished tasks move to Completed, grouped by day. Deleted tasks go to Trash, where you can restore them.
